How do employers benefit from the LEBPCT?
LEBPCT provides a "one stop shop," central collection agency for all of a participating employer's multiple contribution and deduction payments and the related reporting obligations. Instead of preparing and sending multiple contribution checks and varying reports forms every month to various benefit plans around the country, an employer can send a single payment and a single report form to LEBPCT, and LEBPCT will promptly forward the appropriate contribution amount to each of the benefit plans to which the employer is obligated under the collective bargaining agreement. This means less administrative cost, confusion and frustration for the employer.
How do LIUNA members benefit from the LEBPCT?
LEBPCT eliminates a problem that threatened the pension, health and other benefit plans on which laborers and their families depend, and that frequently caused delays in the payment of contributions. The LEBPCT provides a means for getting employer contributions for a laborer to the appropriate benefit plans so that he can receive proper benefit credit from the plans. LEBPCT can also verify the hours for which contributions have been made for a laborer at various locations and for various job assignments.
